Makes me laugh when people say there's no good music now. There's far more good music now that there's ever been. It just so happens that there's a lot more tripe too which you have to ignore

| I'd imagine there was a lot of rubbish stuff back in the 60s as well, but because it was tripe it wasn't remembered. I'd think it's the same for every generation but we live in the current one so we know about all the shockers (cough Gaga cough) |

I honestly can't think of a single band or artist that I'd go and see now. I downloaded the entire Elbow catalogue, Kings of Leon as I was told they were similar to bands I used to like, and I hated them. Maybe it's because they sound too similar to what I used to like, I don't know, I just don't see anybody doing anything remotely original at all. I do think rock is definitely a generational thing, I can't listen to any rock/indie music without comparing them unfavourably to what has gone before them. |

I'm sure I'll end up the same when I'm as old as you  Will try to resist though as it's a very unattractive characteristic in older people when you hear them all saying how much better everything used to be, when usually it wasn't at all |

| White Lies are decent enough, bit too poppy though. People who like them should/will grow up and listen to Joy Division in my opinion |

It makes me laugh when people make judgements based on what music people like. If people like Lady Gaga or anything else, what does it matter?
Lady Gaga isn't for me, but I can't get annoyed at it. She seemed to put on a show that thousands of people enjoyed, so fair play.
There are at least seven stages at Glastonbury, so no-one is being forced to watch anything.

I think he was more saying that people should listen to Joy Division rather than people should grow up.
