Love him or hate him a player of his ability will be missed. Bell has a proven record at test level and is the natural replacement. Hopefully he will now step up to the plate and score match winning hundreds rather than the many 50 and out efforts he has so far produced. If he is out long term Pietersen will be much more of a miss to the one day side, where he has carried the batting for sometime.

without KP assuming FF fit, team should be

Strauss, Cook, Bell, Bopara, Collingwood, Prior, Flintoff, Swann, Anderson, Sidebottom, Harmison

IMHO

I think Broad will keep his place.

Onions seemed to have a elbow injury at the end of the Lords Test so maybe Harmison or Sidebottom will take his place although I'm not sure how much cricket Sidebottom has had recently.

anyone think it best if Bell plays at 3 and drop bopara down to 4
no real reason for why
cheers archie.

Well it's what I'd do, at least give Bopara a chance to find his feet.

But then KP should have been told he was going in at 3 like it or not.
