It sounds as though the wicket is roughing up already and Australia have exploited it. If the tail can stick in for a few more runs AND the England bowlers actually do their stuff, we could be in with a shout.

Do not despair (yet!)

We were all out for 332.

What will the "old enemy" end today on?

I reckon 256-6(Ponting 123 not out!)

Answers on a postcard please

just watched most of the morning on an "early lunch" after today's case collapsed.

Swann needs some rough on te ther side of the wicket and we should get fred and HArmy bowling round the wicket for that ppurpose; they have to bat twce on it and we have the runs on the board

we should not have left ourselves with only 1 slow bowler; the aussis have their bits and pieces spinners (watson, clarke and the suprisingly unused kattich) but we dont; Monty would have loved this pitch. lets hope we can do it without him

this afternoonw ill be fabulous viewing; attritional cricket - I am guessing a lot of stuff beating the bat and a real "digging in from the aussies.

they went off for rain 5 minutes early, and im hpig  abit of juice gets onto tthe wicket before the covers go over; a sweaty lunchtime under the covers and a lively start to teh afternoon, please.

Close of play? 270-6

We have to win now! Batting 4th is going to be impossible. A lead of 250+ should be fine and at this rate we could have a 400 lead
