Simon did the same thing Cheryl did (or tried to do) last week. Cheryl knew that although Danyl was by far the best singer, he was very very unpopular. She didn't want to appear to be unpopular and vindictive by voting Danyl off, so she took the easy way out by hoping he'd have the least votes. Simon knew what she was up to last week and decided to do the same thing. The only thing was, Cheryl's gamble back-fired and ended up getting the Fat Slags booted off instead.

I agree, its pretty pointless keeping a good singer if they aren't popular with the public cos at the end of the day they are never gonna win the competition and never gonna sell many singles. Cowell always goes on about the likeability factor and thats sometimes just as important as a good voice.

Week 5 - Film Music.

I said to Mrs LC last week, 'i would love to see one of the acts just come out and rip the utter p!ss this week, and do something like the theme from Ghostbusters or Spies Like Us'.

Found this spoiler on the following website:

http://community.livejournal.com/ohnotheydidnt/40818451.html

"Olly Murs - Twist and Shout (oh god, we see another shirt-rip coming on. Which is just fine by us)

Jamie Archer - Unchained Melody (Simon Cowell getting one of his acts to perform Unchained Melody? Well, this is simply unprecedented)

Danyl Johnson - Purple Rain (ooh, interesting - will he top Ruth Lorenzo's version from last year?)

Joe McElderry (née Tweedy) - Circle Of Life (yawn)

Jedward (we refuse to call them John & Edward. Can the show officially change their name?) - Ghostbusters

Stacey Solomon - Son Of A Preacher Man (ooh, we think she'll be good at that. Not as good as us on Singstar though, obviously)

The song choices of Lloyd and Lucie are still being kept in a top secret bunker somewhere under the Atlantic Ocean"

I'm not sure if the missus has just started up a website to wind me up or not, but if it's true, this could be comedy gold.

Fairly dull 'revert to type' unoriginal song choices for the rest mind you.

Cheers

LC

That matches up with what I read in the London Lite paper on the way home.

Stuck in tonight, so forcing myself to watch this. Stacey's "Son of a Preacher Man" was very ordinary, not special, dull almost.

You could always watch "The Secret Life of the Berlin Wall" on BBC 2

Thanks anyway.
