i had £2 on leparoux to be top jockey. i like him a lot
not going to pay for a night out, but was just one of those fun hunches.
plenty of time to go yet though

i've got some silly exactas and trifectas in the ladies classic involving music note, careless jewel and proviso

I'm not so sure, I think Informed Decision and Ventura were very closely matched, she would have got closer but not trounced the field IMO. Ponderous ride though.

When your racing for 375 thousand pounds you need to get it right, sadly I would say Gomez got it wrong. Even with a wide draw he was on a very good horse over there and should have known better as Threeout put it. Simple as that really, so if you backed Ventura you can say that you never ever got a chance to win the race.

Completely agree. I may be speaking through my pocket but Ventura would have trounced that field given a decent ride

Wide Draw ?

Yep - but no effort to find the rail - at any point.  Nobody is winning from wide off the final bend.  Compare with Tom on Midday - virtual right angles to find the rail (from 6 admittedly) - poor application of knowledge for me.  I believe I am seeing a lack of thinking by some jockeys tonight - and that is poor...

Wide Draw ? Could the jock have done much more from there in a sprint ? Gomez is one of the best at this track for the most part.

Although it's called a sprint, it's 7 furlongs. I don't consider that a sprint and going as they have been saying on ATR, giving Ventura that much to do against decent opposition was ludicrous.

I agree Informed decision is a good horse but no match for Ventura imho. Ventura got pretty close with one of the worst rides I've seen in a while. Imagine what she would have done with a decent ride.

ACtually lads your right i agree. On reflection he didnt do anything. Probably thought he was on the best horse and didnt need to make a move to win which was silly given informed decions class, form and inside draw.

I'm not going to bother switching over now but I will bear this in mind tomorrow night. I don't have RUK but if it's free, I'll give it a try. A lot of meaningless waffle on ATR

I'm not betting in the last race. I've worked out I'm about £2 down on the night. Not bad but work to do tomorrow
