i can't think of another manager who has had so many periods of abuse from his own team's supporters despite winning trophis
of course there is an apparant belief in liverpool that they should be winning everything as of right, but they simply do not have the financial resorces to compete with man u and abramovich-chelsea, nor now with arab-city.
i think the financial hole his lcub are in needs to be taken into acount
I think Benitez deseres criticism at the moment.
And it's not as if supporters are chanting "Benitez out" or anything.
Anway rather that than be on bended deluded knees calling legendary bottlers like Keegan "The Messiah" all the time.
no they dont sign benitez out they just rng up 606 and whine incessantly.
why that has anything to do with Keegan only you can explain.
If Keegan had got us a European Cup a Super cup and an FA cup he would have been made a saint, if that helps. _________________ Geordie_R

Benitez HAS been given the money, he's just spend a very large chunk of it on crap. He has taken the club on from what they were though, and has done really well. He seems unable to bring them any further however and I think they need a new manager in to shake things up a bit. It hasn't been a disaster by any means and he does deserve credit for bringing Liverpool back into the Big Four and keeping them there. He did buy badly however, so have an awful lot of other managers, but the difference is, he doesn't seem to have any more resources left to correct this; not entirely his fault, but that's not helping Liverpool right now. They need a new manager a new face and new direction.

The real problem he has is that unless he has some funds at his disposal he will not be able to replace some aging faces. Staying in the top 4 is a real priority for them and as things stand they are the ones who will be losing out ahead of Arsenal if Cit-eh or Spurs can capitalise.
PS is everyone else pleased to se Stoke and Burnley in the top half after 1/4 of the season? _________________ Geordie_R

Cheltenham Town manager Martin Allen put on "Gardening Leave" after alleged racist incident outside Cheltenham nightclub last month.
What a charming fellow he seems to be.
Could be a blessing in disguise as Chelt Town are plummeting down League 2 at an alarming rate. There was no money to pay out his contract so this should be the perfect opportunity to get rid without worrying about compensation.
Rumour has it the Messiah (aka Steve Cotterill) may be making a return.

Raffa our gaffer ,16/1 with lads that could well be a lot shorter after the Lyon match
Im sure it is ,playing an obviously unfit Gerrard was a massive gamble that went wrong big style ,summed it all up when he subs Benny ,our only player who can turn a game at present with the score 1-1.Could well be soon _________________ I AM HAPPY TO JOIN WITH YOU TODAY IN WHAT WILL GO DOWN IN HISTORY AS THE GREATEST DEMONSTRATION FOR FREEDOM IN THE HISTORY OF OUR NATION(THE I HAVE A DREAM SPEECH,1963, MARTIN LUTHER KING)

southgate sacked after a 2--0 home win that keeps his team 4th in the league and now only 1 point behind the top 2
timing is everything in comedy.
Have only just seen this. I bet Southgate didnt see that coming.
Of all the times Gibson had ample opportunity to get rid he waits until after a victory
Cant say he hasnt had his chances or backing to the hilt, but as you say GR, cant believe the timing of it.
They must have been getting someone lined up.
Alan Shearer perhaps

I thought they would have gone for tony mowbray a while ago but they probably wouldnt get him now. I think gibson will want someone with a Middelsbrough connection; he needs to make it someone the fans will get behind and start turning up again for.
I suppose he took over a side who were playing in Europe and took them into the second division. their home form this season has cost him. _________________ Geordie_R
