It is a matter of history that when the Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces, General Dwight Eisenhower, found the victims of the death camps he ordered all possible photographs to be taken, and for the German people from surrounding villages to be ushered through the camps and even made to bury the dead.
He did this because he said in words to this effect:
'Get it all on record now - get the films - get the witnesses -because somewhere down the road of history some , will get up and say that this never happened'
This week, the UK debated whether to remove The Holocaust from its school curriculum because it 'offends' the Muslim population which claims it never occurred. It is not removed as yet.. However, this is a frightening portent of the fear that is gripping the world and how easily each country is giving into it.
It is now more than 60 years after the Second World War in Europe ended. This e-mail is being sent as a memorial chain, in memory of the,6 million Jews, 20 million Russians, 10 million Christians, and 1,900 Catholic priests
Who were 'murdered, raped, burned, starved, beat, experimented on and humiliated' while the German people looked the other way!
Now, more than ever, with Iran , among others, claiming the Holocaust to be 'a myth,' it is imperative to make sure the world never forgets.
This e-mail is intended to reach 400 million people! Be a link in the memorial chain and help distribute this around the world.
How many years will it be before the attack on the World Trade Center .
The Muslimi population offended by mention of the Holocaust?
What malicious rubbish.
I agree. Emails like that are evil, malicious and designed to spread propaganda, fear and hatred of all Muslims. They use a horrific and evil act as fuel to perpetrate hatred to another race of people. I would guess this email has come from a right-wing hate organisation like the BNP or an affiliate.

I notice the "memorial chain" email doesn't include gays, gypsies or the disabled as groups who were persecuted (all of whom were killed in the death camps, in particular the disabled, who were subject to dreadful "experimentation". There were very few black people living in Nazi Germany or the states the Nazis took over, but I bet there were some, and that they were not spared either, given the ethnic purity policy of the Nazi state).
I was not aware of any debate about removing the history of the holocaust from the curriculum in the UK, or that any such proposed removal was linked to Muslim objections. The whole thing is a complete canard and is trying to establish/perpetuate the specious untruth that Muslims were/are supporters of the holocaust principle because the main victims were Jews.
I don't remember the holocaust on it's own being on the curriculum at school - it was history. Too true history. I remember sitting in a classroom with the teacher saying - "and they'd have checked you out and you and you" - pointing out every brunette. Scared me silly - probably the only thing I remember being taught at 13
Lochsong - I really hope your explaining to whoever passed you this crap that they're wrong? _________________ Cocktails may not be the answer.... but they help you forget the question Vodka... Cheaper than B otox and paralyses more muscles!
There are groups of muslims that do deny the holocaust that is a fact. However, they are a relatively small group and there are probably more white supremacists that deny it that muslims. If that email comes from America, it is probably more likely to have come from the Neocons than any white supremacist group if you ask me. _________________ You're born with nothing, and better off that way,

Because people were in the trenches with their friends trying to stop the Nazis from committing those crimes.
not much, if any trench warfare in ww2 actually; people were in the trenches in 14-18
and isnt the purpose of the sacfrice made in the two world wars best achieved by not fighting a third? that was my point... _________________ Geordie_R

Im so old that my "history" ended in 1918. I think the deal was, in those days, that if you were of school age and your parents could remember it it wasnt history yet...
I think we have been through an era (1945 to about 1970) when the war was remmbered in a "sacrifice of the forces" sort of way and since then there has, rightyl, been a determination to remember the suffering of non-combatants, especially those who were persecuted by Nazi Germany. Hopefully we will also soon gove some rememberance to thiose who were victims of Stalin too, and then the plight of the cossacks who were shamfeully sent back to soviet russia after WW1 by this country.
The Holocaust should, of course, be taught to the current generation (and not just here, throughout the world). It serves as a shocking reminder of man's ability to act inhumanly towards fellow humans. It shows where discrimination and bigotry can lead. _________________ Geordie_R

For the benefit of those of you who haven't bothered to read the link above, here is an excerp
Quote:
The report gave as an example a history department in "a northern city" which "recently avoided selecting the Holocaust as a topic for GCSE coursework for fear of confronting anti-Semitic sentiment and Holocaust denial among some Muslim pupils".
If a high profile news organization like the BBC is going to put stuff like that on their website then what do you expect to happen?
