Thanks for the reply Johnnio. Any chance of the RATS reforming ?????
It would certainly be on my list of MUST SEES.

Last time I went to see Madness I`ve never seen so many red faced, out of wind, unfit, 40 year olds. ME INCLUDED .

The early 80s those were the days.

I think there was talk of a comeback, but think Bob was out saving the world so it didn't materialise. Felt really old at that gig on Saturday, saw loads of people dancing, but just stood by my table drinking, seemed like too much energy for me. The other weird thing was, because it was in a leisure centre, there was a smoking ban, so there was as many people outside as there was inside - kind of lacked a bit of atmosphere, a taste of things to come perhaps.

The smoking ban has been in force up here for 6 months. Its the best thing that ever happened. But there is always somebody standing in the doorway of the pubs, having a drag. It will be interesting to see what they do in the middle of winter . The pubs are now a much better, cleaner place to go. You can even wear your same jacket two night running .

Was there a large crowd at the bunnymen gig ???? Did they have the hit echo beach ?????

"Echo Beach" was Martha and the Muffins mate! Yeah there was a big crowd at it. Wondering what it'll be like having a smoking ban, have the impression there'll be more people sitting outside than inside, especially if there are a lot of women around, there were a few people openly smoking inside. Did you get many people doing that? I know in larger bars, they'll have bouncers who can throw them out, but what about the smaller places, was there many problems enforcing the ban?

Andy,

You're off to V in Chelmsford this weekend right? Do you live locally? I'm originally from Brentwood, just a short scoot down the A12 from Highlands Park.

Andy,

Yep, that's right but I don't live locally. My girlfriend and I are travelling down on Friday and setting up camp on the evening whilst the music starts on the Saturday.

alright Kyle

i saw kasabian last year at rock city , they were awsome man. Serge Pizzaro is one the coolest mother , around .

However - they were lots of e-dropping students there , which was ok for the atmosphere during the gig , but , getting out was a knightmare !

Nice thread.

Interesting to know what music people are into.

Best gig (makes me feel old just writing it) was to The Fun Lovin Criminals at Rock City Nottingham, must be about 6 years ago now. A brilliant, funky night and the venue is just the right size for me.

Must admit that I hate Sheffield Arena, and cannot abide big outdoor concerts, what an old fart!! :P
