cheers dom, think i am going to have a nice each way bet if it is a decent price, with holland up on board also makes me a bit confident too, ran a cracker in the voltigeur
Yeah he did run well and 50/1 is massive if he's still that price.
With the ground getting quicker and Jeremy noseda in terrible form I can't see Sixties Icon winning. _________________ TWIST MAGIC. Obstacles can't stop you. Problems can't stop you. Most of all other horses can't stop you. Only you can stop you.
To compound the misery, i think Fire And Rain is about to be a non runner judging by the state of the exchanges.
To be fair i knew the game was up when the jockey announcements were made, with the ground drying up Red Rocks will be your winner should he stay with Mountain to place.
Puerto Rico has been taken out of this afternoon's Ladbrokes St Leger at York.
Trainer Aidan O'Brien reported the colt to have suffered a stone bruise earlier in the week and he has failed to recover from the setback.
O'Brien will still be well represented in the final Classic of the season with Tusculum, Fire And Rain and Mountain set to take their chances in the 11-runner field.
Colm O'Donoghue is a better jockey than Darryl Holland in my opinion, and I would read nothing into his being booked to ride Fire And Rain. In fact, I think the market overreacted to the booking. The betting is surely the best guide as to what is expected, rather than potential misapprehensions about jockey bookings.
finding it hard to get inspiration today.most who i fancy are short priced favs.the echo of light race at york is intersting.echo of light is either going to win it and win it by a street or run absolutely crap, dependimg on his mood today.stage gift almost certainly would of needed the run lto in the voltigeur after a 7 week lay off ,but still managed to get competitive before get hampered and eased back home.should be much sharper today and back over a trip he is probably best at.
I only say Darryl coz i do actually rate him as a jockey and haven't really seen much of Colm. Hopefully i am wrong and he puts in a quality display but i normally prefer to see a big named jock on board and Dazzler has decent experience imo.

I checked his stats when the bookings were announced, he didnt seem to have ridden many winners. I agree about the betting being a good guide, thats why i am glad Ladbrokes have Fire and rain the shortest. I think many average punters would be going on the fact Darley was booked, which as you say, may not be the case.
I know there was a doubt about Red Rocks getting the trip today but Richard Hughes was taking the piss having a horse that likes to be up with the pace stone last, not like he would have won anyway but he could have give him a chance to win.I'm having myself a Bobby moment here. _________________ TWIST MAGIC. when i put my bet on red rocks last month,i was assuming dettori would ride.it had to be a case of getting it right when it mattered most.couldnt believe my eyes when red rocks was last or last but 1 throughout.dont think he would of won,but may of been 2nd if raced more prominently.i dont understand this theory about holding horses up if there is doubts over stanima.surely riding a horse differently to how it normally races results in a below form run.he could of positioned him in 3rd or 4th,if he wasnt going to stay he wasnt going to stay, but at least he would of been close up when they were riding for the finish.backed peeress and ouija baord today, have i been let down by jockeys on these 2?
I didn't see the Matron Stakes, I didn't think Jamie Spencer did alot wrong on Ouija Board although if Kieran was on OB and Jamie was on DT the result would have been different, maybe Spencer went too soon but it was a very good ride by Fallon. _________________ TWIST MAGIC. Im not a big Spencer fan, he is very talented but often starts looking round a long way from home. If anything he gets over confident. I think he may have gone soon, as Dom stated, OB going past him certainly galvanised Dylan Thomas. I cant take anything away from both horses though, it was a great race to watch as was The Leger.

Just seen the race - I was going to say (Biased beyond belief) If Fallon had been on both of them Ouija would have won!
That's the last time I bet against Mr Fallon - Sir
