what a private company who didn't need bailing out, make huge profits, and employ the best in the business pay their staff is between them and their shareholders i would suggest.
only those of a jealous/bitter disposition tend to moan about this kind of thing - obviously without having a clue what the people in question actually do...
oh yes, you're right. my brain saw £'s and not $'s.
do even the admin staff on less than 30k, which they must have plenty of to bring the average down to that level, earn a bonus every quarter depending on the success of the company? _________________ Is ready to hibernate

At my old job, we had to deal with Goldman Sachs at their offices in London quite a bit.
I tell you what, there didn't seem to be a bad-looking female at that place. It was magnificent _________________ The Skanky's Mob Facebook Group......

don't know about quarterly but they'll be on bonuses. my girlfriend works in the back office - formerly at lehman and now at a hedge fund, and she gets a salary and a bonus. they all contribute to the success, so why not. obviously they won't get what the "bread winners" get, but if the company's doing well...
their secretaries probably earn more than i do trading where i am

Just been looking at the ftse and dow charts for the last 3 years. Both rallyed to '06 levels now. although of course the dollar and pound have fallen against most currencys, gold/silver etc slashing some weatlh.
When is this dead cat bounce going to come to an end? If you believe it is of course Where do we go from here
