Not to be deliberately picky, but it's the Lockinge.

Currently favourite on Betfair at 4.4

Sorry to be even pickier Darren but its actually Juddmonte Lockinge Stakes I actually meant to right Juddmonte Lockinge but anyway....

4.4 eh? If he is going to turn up that looks big(ish) all things considering

Grrr, don't get me started. I'm happy for sponsors to get rewarding plug on telly where exposure matters, but it's the Lockinge, the Eclipse and the Queen Mother Champion Chase. And it's still the John Porter, the Fred Darling and any of all those "registered as…" races!

Any word on who's taking over the Whitbread/BetFred Gold Cup? Surely there must be a company called Whitehead or Benstead or something. If only Terry Ramsden was still in the game - his company was Glenwed!

i would say a fast 6 furlongs would suit GW down to the ground and would only make him more unique for the breedering purposes

big targets for GW (i hope) july cup and breeders cup mile

No, conceeding 11lbs to a 5l winner of the derby over 2f over his best trip (IMO) sounds like a bad idea to me.

But who knows the enigma that is GW might surprise me !!!

I honestly believe he is a top-class miler who just needs the race to be run to suit - fast from early on - and not a 10 furlong type. I'm as guilty as anyone of wanting a superstar (we've not had one for years, now) but he ain't the real deal, he's not a 137+ horse. He's got a great performance in him, just as Hawk Wing did. But there are too many variables, too many ifs. He's most likely to win at a track like Ascot (round) rather than Goodwood; so I can see him winning a second QE2; and if they wanted to take a chance at Newmarket in the Champion, well, the best of luck to them.

George won't be gelded. He'll be back in the stud, probably at a greatly reduced fee. He just got into the swing of things a bit too late at a key time of the breeding season.
