Wait 'till Monday morning I'm sure I'll have missed someone.

I was sober on Saturday night - Today's my only day off - A little southern comfort is allowed

Skyelady Ran at Ponterfract yesterday. It's overall profile is not outstanding but has been performing well in it's grade. Ran well yesterday until getting a bit outpaced close home. Will be interesting in a handicap on firm ground & may be over further.

Won 9/2 at Mussleburgh yesterday.

Ran unplaced at Ascot on Saturday.

She is now in foal & will be off to the paddocks soon so it's time to remove her from the list.

I got one thing slightly wrong, it needs easy ground to show it's best form. Can't be right everytime can I!

Runs 7.15 Thirsk

Has a very good 7lb claimer in Niel Brown on board & has a good chance of going in again with the ground to suit.

Won 9/2

I'm not sure what to do now it's won two races on the trot as in away it's fulfield it selection in the note book as a 'future' winner when I put it up as a entry.....!

You never know it might just get a hatrick if the ground stays soft for awhile....(which it may!) & the use Brown's claim to offset the raise in weights again that it will get.

Another new entry from me:

Rosie Cross

Ran at Brighton yesterday. Often front runs but was soon headed yesterday so was settled in just in behind the leaders. Started a promising move about 2 furlongs out which loooked like it would pay off. May of got a bit tired in the soft ground as her run faded just under a furlong out, but she stuck on to finish not far off the leaders.

Given better ground I can see her winning at some stage.

Runs: 2.30 Woverhampton

Drops back to 5f today, but if she can get out & lead or get a nice tow along I think she capable of winning.

Runs: 2.50 Lingfield

Steps back up to 6f today which is really her best distance as she only just got home up last time & they got away with running her over 5f. Has a good chance today but there is a fairly well bread horse called Milliesecond who could be the danger.

Lady Aquitaine 3rd today at Kempton, first run ignore as she ran green and was not given a hard ride. Today she raced wide, bends did her no favours and couldn't pick up on poly. Big lass, must have shown some speed previously at home and looks to have a bit of toe given the right conditions. Probably needs good ground 7f or a furlong either way.

Lady Aquitaine broke her maiden over 6 at Windsor (G/F), beating the boys by 6 lengths! Impressive victory tempered by the 4/5 price...

Ryan Moore reported as saying he thought she could earn some black type in the future. So might be worth keeping her in on account of that but really she has fulfilled the notebook purpose (eventually)

Found everything happening to quickly yesterday & struggled to stay up with the pace.

In truth she's up in the weights now & I can't see her winnning many more races so I think I'll drop her from the list. At least we had a win out of her.

Starlight Gazer

Ran today at Leicester and although finding trouble in running still managed to win a shade cosily in my eyes. Due to carry 6lb more next time out but if encountering 7f and soft/heavy ground should be worthy of a good run.

Dalhaan, ran in the maiden race on the Saturday of Glorious Goodwood. Looked absolutely stunning in the parades but was really green going to post and also on the course, ran around all the way around then got his act together and stayed on well into 9th. Looked a really nice prospect, (plus he was 50 or 66/1 generally but Totesport only went 25s). Anyway, a lovely type, should improve greatly on this run next time out!

On the original 'ones to watch for the season' thread, ages ago, i put up a horse who i was impressed with on her only two starts at the end of the flat season last year.

I can't see her on this list now.

Well, she races tomorrow evening for the first time since last September, so looking forward to seeing how she gets along.

STARRY MESSENGER Haydock 9.20 (will add also to Friday's racing thread)

EDIT to keep things tidy and update how she did....

Lost the Win by a shoulder aw.

9:20

1 Galianna 15-8 Fav
2 Starry Messenger 3-1
3 Feeling 10-1
9 ran

Starry Messenger confirmed the favourable impression she had created as a two-year-old, leading two furlongs out and only giving best late on. As a daughter of a Park Hill Stakes winner it is no surprise that stamina is her forte and she should win a staying maiden

Galianna
in touch, effort over 2f out, soon challenging strongly, hung left final furlong, ran on to lead post

Starry Messenger
held up, headway 3f out, ridden to lead 2f out, always hard pressed, ran on under pressure, headed post

She races today at Ripon 4.20

Can I add One Called Alice. 2yo by Zilzal, completely missed the break at Wolverhampton on Monday, so much so she was unsighted through most of the race but she nearly flew home for fourth. Not a very good race but if she can stay awake in the stalls she has an impressive kick which must be of use in a race somewhere, someday

Counsell's Opinion, that old handicapper, has finally come down to a mark that he can be competitive off. Ran off 81 at Sandown today in a 9 furlong race and was staying on very nicely at the end. Produced an RPR of 91 3 starts ago and if getting ideal conditions can finally end his losing run.

I would suggest a handicap, restricted to 4yo+ (to avoid those pesky 3yos) and at least 10 furlongs. Ideally a true run race so that he would be capable of running to his RPR.

Certainly the trainer will be keen to find a race ...hopefully will pick the right one.

I will give him 3 chances
