Couldn't agree more...

I'm just listening to US radio, and apparently the wind is only really affecting the 16th, 17th, and 18th holes

Also, I think there's quite a but of sand from bunkers scattered on the greens and fairways, with the flags bent to around 45 degrees

I cannot understand it as they all have to play in the conditions and unless it has got really bad they should have continued because the ones who went out first had played 8 holes & why is it only in America they have the start times of these rounds so that they virtually finish as dusk looms

The easy answer is its for the TV viewers and therefore advertisers YY. I am a bit suprised that no other tournament has been delayed by wind, as several since 1998 have been finished on the monday.

It cannot just be for TV as they do alter events if they know the weather is going to be bad they have done this alot in the past and they just play the recording with a not live sign at the bottom

I love watching Kelly, his style of play seems to be birdie every hole and by not playing cautious his golf gets a bit wayward.

I was reading a US PGA Annual review last week that gave a write up of all the US PGA circuit events.

The entry for the Heritage was the only one which referenced statistics of how the winners of this event fair in the Majors. I can't remember the actual stat but it said that a high proportion of winners of the Heritage are either previous winners of a major or go on to win a major.

I will certainly be backing the past two winners then for future majors as they're likely to be big prices on Betfair.

Aaron Baddely and now Boo Weekely

LUFC - I know stats are stats, etc, but I will eat my shorts if Boo Weekley wins a major in the next 5 years, I'd be very surprised if he wins another tournament again!

The way he finished was pure unadulterated luck and without it, he would have choked away his lead. Very much like Lucas Glover, he won the Disney by holing a 30 yard bunker shot, I just don't give much credence to guys who win tournaments like this.

JDF he deserved a bit of luck, he hardly dropped a shot over the first three days. Surely someone to back at big odds and lay if he has a good start. He has had a few decent starts this year.

Without the luck though Alan, he would have lost and forever labelled a choker - he will remember that next time when (if) he leads a tournament on the final day.

Not saying he isn't a good back to lay proposition, just saying that I don't think he will win again soon!

It probably helped that he was not in the final group as although he did get the luck to chip in twice from off the green he was still able to do it and this guy has definately improved because from his 2002 effort of not retaining his card he has already had a few top 10's this year

This is also the reason Ben Curtis is a major winner!!!!

I'm not getting at Weekley per se, he has improved as a golfer no doubt, but winning tournaments is so difficult, he didn't come across as being comfortable in the lead, and that does apply to 90% of the golfers on both tours, but as Markus Brier showed, when they do get to the top (and they have won before), it is so much easier to follow it through. All Boo will remember is how nervous he was and how lucky he was!

JDF

the likes of Baddley and Weekes are likely to bee in the 300+ bracket on Betfair come the majors, so there certainly value to be had based on the freak stats thrown up by the Heritage......though that stat is probably skewed by multiple winners...Davis LoveIII? winning the odd major
