I know its easy to say this about a 4/5 shot, but Authorized simply wont be beaten from what ive heard. Chappel-Hyam has had quite a few decent horses, but he says none of them are in the same league as Authorized, he says this horse is quite simply a machine.

Basic form study.

Aqualeem beats authorized by a head
Aqualeem beats hearthstead maison 4 lengths
Lucarno beats hearthstead maison 4 3/4 lengths

Who's the favourite for the derby again?

If only it was so simple

Im actually backing Lucarno for a place as I think its massively over priced, but i'll only be backing for a place, I think im wasting my time backing for the win

Is it a bit worrying about Peter Chapple H saying he'd have preferred good ground for Authorized? If he's meant to be better on decent ground but is still a machine with cut then have the others really got any sort of chance?!

I was told unless it turns up really soft then ground wont be an issue at all, and even then he'll still win on soft

That's what I mean, he hacks up on heavy in the RP Trophy but still apparently prefers good ground

PCH says that about every half decent horse he has. A hype merchant of the highest order.

Well, when I say Chappel Hyam, I mean the guy I know in the stable, he rides the horses out on a morning, and he's very honest, tells me if horses wont win etc, but he says this horse will definitely win. He rarely gets it wrong, and obviously no horses are ever certain, but he's basically told me to put my mortgage on this

There is also a legend about the Boy's Grave in Newmarket. This is a grave of some boy from way back (17th century?) beside the main Cambridge/Newmarket road (I think). The "Boy" in question is unnamed but probably had something to do with horses.

IT IS SAID that overnight before the Derby, flowers in the winners' colours appear on the grave.......Trouble is, if the flowers are dark blue.....

''They swing around Tattenham corner, Frankies pulling double on the fav, he's a bit boxed in by the Coolmore team, he cant get out, on the outside McEvoy is letting Eastern Anthem go, he's quickened into the lead, Frankie gets clear, its too late, Eastern Anthem wins by a length! Eastern Anthem wins the Derby for Godolphin, Sheik Mo is in raptures! Its the moment Godolphin have waited for!............''

Surely they are not ALL in dark blue? I wonder how many colours they have?!!
