i wonder i just wonder if this uefa cup belongs to ive watched plenty of live games this season but the miss by sanogo has to be the miss of the season     open goal a yard out hit the bar

Hope you get to see the replay of this, Sanogo's shot was on target but McGregor pushed it onto the bar - one hell of a save! Granted Rangers have ridden their luck this year, but they could easily have won the first leg by more than 2 goals and, imo, their progess is more than just luck.

Cheers

hello penleguin
i probably worded my message wrong but i agree with you in that rangers progress has not been down to just luck,no doubt theyve had luck in some games but you need luck to win things and i hope rangers go on and win the uefa cup,12-1 seems rather large imo
i think rangers have nothing to fear from sporting lisbon (perhaps the cheating, which portugese are so good at) or either of psv/fiorentina and lets hope rangers do the business.cheers archie.
i aint seen the replay so didnt get to see McGregor save but saw he saved a couple in the penaltie shootout in the CIS.cheers.

again in my opinion the bookmakers are underestimating rangers in that they make sporting favs to qualify so had a wee punt on rangers to qualify

any posters with any opinions on how there see this game/tie going??
cheers archie.

i didnt get to see the first leg anyone watch it???
0-0 a fair result??
according to reports ive heard neither side got on top and chances few and far between and im thinking the 2nd leg could well be the exact same has the first game, rangers will go with the formation of 4-5-1 and will look to play on the break so if sporting cant break em down another 0-0 maybe on the cards
and extra time,penalties
hopefully not and i hope rangers take a chance when it come along
no new prices up yet on who qualifies but im still alive with my punt on the gers to qualify.cheers archibald.

Didn't see the game Archie, as I predicted a 0-0 draw (No cash on it of course! ). I reckon a draw in the second leg as well after 90 mins, could well go to penalties, but have a sneaking feeling could be 1-1, and your punt will survive another round.

Cheers

are we going to see another russian winner of the uefa cup???
in zenit st petersburg??
ive just trailed throu the whole tournie from the qualifiers and has you know most of the teams are pretty poor but in a knockout situation zenith have beaten marseille, villarreal and leverkusen (of course the germans still have a slim chance) but all those teams are flying high in there respected leagues
i remenber chatting to you after the champs league game celtic v sparta moscow and even thou the russians got knocked out we talked about how good they play was and surprizing how russian teams never progressed further than the groups and also remenber you saying its normally wintertime shut down the big clubs come a calling and nick all the best players so i just wonder if all the best russian players are decideing to stay put and maybe we could see a reserve of good players leaving russian football and good players going to play there football in russia
just a thought has there must be some money in russian football has dick gets over $4million a year
that would be some final
rangers v zenith with ex gers boss dick advoccart in charge.cheers archie.

hello TheGoingStick
you could well be right on that score but just been looking at some of the game specials
rangers on pens @ 33-1
rangers in extra time @ 50-1
rangers clean sheet @ 3-1

rangers to qualify @ 11-8
draw no bet rangers @ 9-4
rangers to win to nil @ 11-2
rangers to score a pen in 90 min 10-1
my boy says sporting played has well has they could have at ibrox where rangers didnt so hopefully rangers can play has well has they can and i think they will score
i wont be having any punt if at all on the game until i see rangers line up
any of the specials grab you???cheers archie.

This is a tight game archie, it looks like one goal will win it, they've both had about the same amount of chances in the first half.

I was quite enjoying the Lisbon fans getting on their teams back after 10 mins
