Wow I've only just seen the result of the Bayern vs Getafe match, Luca Toni Scored in the last minute of extra time to send Bayern through to the semis. Getafe had a player sent off after 5 mins and still managed to pull off a 1-1 draw after 90 mins. Reminded me of the Middlesbough run to UEFA cup final the other year

Grrrrrrrr...I missed that last night. Bloody Bayern, jammy as ever.

Well I reckon Rangers are the cheapest side in the semi by far. If you take Ferguson out the equation (bearing in mind they bought him back for less than they sold him for), I reckon the whole team cost less than 8 million! Not a bad effort considering last night's team had 6 starting players who are new this season.

to be honest Archie I don't think Fioerntina are all that...

I would take rangers to win but it might be 2-1 which would set up a very tough away leg

I'kll be watching, it can't be any less exciting than the last 2 nights

Well rangers are sticking to their tried and trusted formula in the Uefa cup, bore draw at home and win it away in the second leg.

Well done Rangers

Vieri didn't look too confident before taking his penalty. It'll be like having home advantage in Manchester

hello penleguin
i probably worded my message wrong but i agree with you in that rangers progress has not been down to just luck,no doubt theyve had luck in some games but you need luck to win things and i hope rangers go on and win the uefa cup,12-1 seems rather large imo
i think rangers have nothing to fear from sporting lisbon (perhaps the cheating, which portugese are so good at) or either of psv/fiorentina and lets hope rangers do the business.cheers archie.
i aint seen the replay so didnt get to see McGregor save but saw he saved a couple in the penaltie shootout in the CIS.cheers.

that 12-1 does look rather large
walter wont change hes system for the final so i expect bookmakers will make zenith the favs they have been the more impressive team in reaching manchester.rangers to win.cheers archie.

I continue to be shocked by Rangers progress this year, reckon last night's team cost about 7.5 million (if you exclude Ferguson who was bought back for less than he was sold for). Zenit are rightly favourites, but if Cuellar and Weir stay fit then anything is possible. I've no doubt Zenit are used to playing in front of big crowds but I wonder how many Rangers fans will be in Manchester on the 14th. I'm down in York for the races that week - might see if I can get across to enjoy the atmosphere!

are we going to see another russian winner of the uefa cup???
in zenit st petersburg??
ive just trailed throu the whole tournie from the qualifiers and has you know most of the teams are pretty poor but in a knockout situation zenith have beaten marseille, villarreal and leverkusen (of course the germans still have a slim chance) but all those teams are flying high in there respected leagues
i remenber chatting to you after the champs league game celtic v sparta moscow and even thou the russians got knocked out we talked about how good they play was and surprizing how russian teams never progressed further than the groups and also remenber you saying its normally wintertime shut down the big clubs come a calling and nick all the best players so i just wonder if all the best russian players are decideing to stay put and maybe we could see a reserve of good players leaving russian football and good players going to play there football in russia
just a thought has there must be some money in russian football has dick gets over $4million a year
that would be some final
rangers v zenith with ex gers boss dick advoccart in charge.cheers archie.

Good tipping Archie, would of been nice odds im sure
