Sorry for the delay!!

I promise I won't ever run a competition with such complicated outcome!  As soon as I read Geordies post about two different medal tables I was think  What have I let myself in for!

I'm really pleased there were only a few entries

Thanks to Alan for working out the first lots of scores - Medals in order regardless of type

Top USA - 100 Medals

Top Five
USA
China
Russia
Great Britain
Australia

    ASC.............50 + 100 - 2 = 148
    Owl.............50 + 100 - 10 = 140
    TGS.............50 + 100 - 11 = 139
    Jenny...........50 + 100 - 13 = 137
    Hampton.........50 + 75 - 5 = 120
    Geordie..........0 + 100 - 0 = 100
    FF............0 + 100 - 6 = 94
    Suejoe...........0 + 75 - 10 = 65


But I've been watching the BBC medal table - Medals in order of Golds  

Top CHINA - 100 Medals

Top Five
China
USA
Russia
GB
Germany

    Owl.........125 - 0 = 125
    Suejoe....50 + 75 - 0 = 125
    FF..........50 + 75 - 16 = 109
    Jenny.....100 - 3 = 97
    Geordie...50 + 50 - 10 = 90
    TGS.......75 - 1 = 74
    ASC.......75 - 8 = 67
    Hampton..75 - 15 = 60


I think Lochsong's right - Owl should win as he's the only on of us who mentioned....

Good stuff, FF! Congrats to Alan for coming top of one table, Owl for coming top of another, and me for coming fourth in both - at least I am consistent (though not successful!)

Oooh have I won?! I'm not sure. Looks like Alan might have a strong case if this one goes to the stewards!

Either way, well done to everyone and well done FF for hosting your 1,000th competition of the year so far!

sorry to be a tart but
the original questions were

1 who would win most medals

2 how many would they win

3 who would make up the top 5 in medals table

1 and 2 are the same for whichever way you cut thetable, as the question related to medals of all sort

the answers were

1 usa

2 110 medals


3 china, usa, russia, gb and either germany [on golds table] or australia [total medals]

so eg hampton shouldnt be -7 for medals [he said 105] he should be -5 and jen should be -13 [she said 97]

sorry and all that.

I have edited the top section for 110 Medals. When i done the scoring i used a total of 108 for some scores, confusing my guess with the total.
