just looking at the times for the semis there, and was wondering if anyone can tell me what 0.1 of a second equates to in distance. ie, a length, 2 lengths etc.

You can say that a rough guide is .05 is 1/2 Length .10 is 1 1/4 lengths.

Its not straight forward comparing race times though. The speed of the track can change during the night, especially if wet or cold. Also a clean run race will be faster than one with bumping.

Now i am jealous, it must be a great night at Shelboure Park. Here is a little advice, grab Saturdays racing post, there is always a write up about the main races of the day. There is also a good web site for Irish Greyounds. There is a form section as well as a results section. The site itself is very easy to navigate, and it may help to make a few notes before you go. The news section is particularly good, and there are currently Articles about the final.  If you find after a few races, the inner or outer traps are doing well, then stick with them, especially if it is raining.

It says on the RP site that Shelbourne Aston won, Slip the anchor second, Ballymac Ruso third and Advantage Johnny fourth. Is that wrong ?

In that case I make the final standings :-

tGS £1950
ASC £925
Mikey £400
