Golfswing,

I you with Sky or Virgin?  Presumably Racing UK do not charge a joining fee or exit fee?

I've just subscribed again. I can't be doing with ATR for the BC this weekend, and an online feed isn't always guaranteed.
I just spoke to virgin customer services, and they said I can cancel again on Sunday morning and only get charged for 4 days usage. Fantastic, I'm going to keep doing this all next season now to
a) save a few pounds
b) annoy virgin enough until they give me the channel for free again

Nice one Grom, I might look in to that. Why do you think ATR coverage is so bad?

It cost me £2.33 for 4 days.
I didn't really need it in the end because they showed the BC for free. But this is the way forward for me for next summer.

Am I right in thinking this turns RUK into effectively a pay-per-view (or per day)? Can you only do it on Virgin? Any of these sorts of options would be useful for me, as I can't spend out on a monthly sub, but would like to be able to watch specific races live (without necessarily having a bet either!)

I am also looking to the future when I shall be abroad - I notice that the RUK overseas package is more than double the price of the UK one. Why, I wonder? Always assuming that any internet access in Bosnia would allow it in the first place!

I think so Jenny yes. I can switch it on and off whenever I want with a 2 minute phone call. There is no connection charge and I only get charged per day. They charge you the £20 up front, then credit the difference when you cancel.
I'm not sure if sky would do this as well.

Having spoke to the customer services team at virgin they said they will be surprised if RUK carries on as a premium channel, they aren't getting enough people to sign up for one channel that effectively costs the same as sky sports/movies package
