Whatever the standard of football wherever on the planet
for any team to go throu a domestic season undefeated is a fantastic achievement
well played to Celtic
they should cruise throu the 2nd champions league qualifying round whoever they pull out the hat and i would think avoid Ajax and Nice in the 3rd round and they be favorites to get throu to the groups

cheers

European draws for the Scottish clubs involved

Celtic up against either Linfield/Sp La Fiorita (san marino in the 2nd rd of the Champions league
and the 1st rd of the Europa cup pits Rangers against Luxemborg opposition in Progres Niederkomi
St Johnstone against Lithuanian team  Trakai
in the 2nd rd Aberdeen play either Ordabasy (Kazakhstan) or Bosian team Siroki Brijeg

The last time i looked at the Coefficients Scotland was way ahead of these countries,so hopefully show it on the park and all progress
be nice to see and watch a couple of Scottish teams in the group stages of the Europa league   but we shall see

cheers

Celtic v Linfield on the 12th would be an absolute security nightmare.

I want Scottish football to get back to where it was.

European football nights featuring Aberdeen, both Glasgow clubs, and Dundee Utd were good/great games to watch. I doubt that the passion these clubs generated when home grown players playing in the main for their home town clubs would be repeated but would want it to.

Agree with OOA on this

Whilst the state of Scottish football might be amusing to some, the great performances over the years by Scottish clubs has always been great for the game.

I think they need to get some investment into the grass roots, develop the next generation. They can't compete financially for the top players, should stop being used as a last hiding place for a few journeymen and find the next Lennox, Johnston (Jimmy, not Mo), McCoist or dare we hope Baxter and Law.

A struture is in place Geordie to bring the boys along and weve had some success at the recent Toulon tournament finishing 3rd overall but the best thing to happen to Scottish football imo is the sacking of ex Sunderland manager Ricky Sbragia has under 21 manager,we went backwards under hes leadership imo under 17,under 19,under 21
This fella wouldnt know a good footballer  if he ever saw one imo,he would find fault with Messi/Ronaldo
hopefully with him out the way,we get to see the young players pushing for a full cap
to be fair Geordie there has been some shocking foreigners but it was a joy to watch Henrik Larsson and Brian Laudrup play, best two foreigners ive seen play in Scotland,30 seconds ahead of there team mates, top top quality

cheers

Aberdeen play the 3rd qualifying round against Apollon Limassol this thursday
great respect to Appollon who have made the group stage twice before but this season its Aberdeens turn and fancy the Dons will have too much in front of goal for the Crpriots and look to win by at least 2 goals before the return leg,23-20 for the Dons, ive had some of that, just hope the Dons have there scoring boots on

cheers

Not the first time that ive wondered if Mr Rodgers was watching the same game has me,with hes post match interview after  Celtic v Rosenboug but Celtic were awful imo and if it werent for that pisspoor striker Nichlas Bendtner missing chances,it could of been all over tonight
this Rosenboug team arent up to much,so if Celtic can up there performance from tonight, still gotten think they can score over there and get throu

cheers

Aye,that was one of the problems,in that Celtic didnt have a recognized centre forward on the park
the two Norweigian centre backs were strong and discinplined and had it easy
the experts were suggesting Celtic werent at there sharpest due to it still being pre season, the same excuses year after year

cheers

Celtic were awful Archie, but they will at least have griffiths back for the 2nd leg.
Rosenborg played a good game though, it was really 3 centre halfs and 2 full backs sitting deep. No room for sinclair to go inside and release tierney outside. They'll have to come out and play at some stage and i'd expect celtic to exploit that.
What do you think of Tierney Archie? Looks top class to me.

Sorry for the late reply TAFKAB been away for a few days,Tierney is going to be has good has he wants to be,got a level head on him and taking everthing in hes stride, rumours that quite a few England big clubs have offered big money for him
Reading the paper today that Rosenberg manager saying he wont be going go ho  from the start,so maybe a cagey affair but i agree with you hopefully with Griffiths on the park,he can get the centre backs moving and Forrest or Sinclair can get in the space and get some shots off and nick a goal
i think Celtic will get what they need, either a score draw or the win

cheers
