I'd even go as far as saying Martina Navratilova is the greatest sportswoman of all time and is probably in the top 5 sportspeople of the 20th Century too.
yep Navratilova was years ahead of any of her competitors and had to deal with all kinds of stuff off the court like being Czech during the cold war and beating up on a pretty American crowd favourite (Evert) every time they played and be attacked for her looks and perceived sexuality..much the best
after that Steffi Graf was simply awesome...
Monica Seles would certainly have been right up there (she spanked Graf more often than not) until getting stabbed in Hamburg and can be regarded as a great player.
Magater Court has a tremendous record and I'll allow BJK in as well...
but Martina is light years clear of the rest _________________ RJI
I still have a lovely photo of her in one of those 1920's tennis outfits (long frilly drawers!), playing a forehand at Wimbledon. And a huge silver cup she won for the "Public Courts Championship of Wales"!
She played hockey for Wales, too, and I still have her dragon blazer badge.
Dad was a cricketer (before he got into racing!) and had a trial for Kent. Ah, memories....!

Are you any good at sport ? Seems to be a lot of good sportsmen around who are descendants of other sportsmen, I think Tim Henmans great aunt won Wimbledon decades ago or something along those lines.
